This tune was my ode to Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On?" . I really wanted to write a social-political song that didn't sound like a parody or like I was trying too hard to re-create a time gone by of songs in the vein. I was pleased with it but didn't feel like this tune fit the theme of the original RIVER album.
